Portraits ‘17 seconds’

Portraits ‘17 seconds’

Photography with antique (1890) technical field camera.

Galery 'de kunstpraktijk', Veldhoven, The Netherlands, sept/nov 2012

I make portraits with an old (1890) technical field camera. The negatives are 18 x 24 cm,
on photopaper. The exposure time I use for the portraits is about 17 seconds. In these 17 seconds the facial expression of the models becomes a dreamy one. It's a research to find out what is possible in 17 seconds of motionlessness, and combining motionlessness with movement.
In november 2012 I exhibited the '17 seconds' series in Galery 'de Kunstpraktijk' in Veldhoven.
